Dr. Shannon A. Melcher is a board-certified UCI Health primary care provider who specializes in family medicine and managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, chronic heart failure and hyperlipidemia. Her clinical interests include adolescent health, sports medicine, women’s health, preventive medicine and reproductive planning. Melcher earned her medical degree from the Chicago Medical School at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Ill. She completed her family medicine residency at UCI School of Medicine. She enjoys working in partnership with each patient to help them achieve their health goals. She is also interested in preventive medicine with an emphasis on nutrition and wellness training. Melcher, who speaks intermediate level Spanish.
